Peaks:⛰️ North Barrule (565 m)⛰️ Clagh Ouyr (551 m)
On 24th April 2022, I embarked on a solo Quality Mountain Day on the Isle of Man. The day involved a long and demanding hike over mountainous terrain and steep hills, covering a total distance of 36.67 km. The ascent totaled 1522 meters, taking in peaks such as North Barrule (565 m) and Clagh Ouyr (551 m).The weather was clear and sunny, providing excellent visibility throughout the day. The conditions allowed for straightforward navigation, but the physical demands of the terrain made it a challenging outing. The route involved a mix of steep climbs and long descents, testing both endurance and stamina.Despite the length and difficulty of the hike, the experience was highly rewarding. The clear skies offered stunning views from the summits, making the effort worthwhile. This QMD provided valuable solo experience in managing a long day in the mountains, balancing pace, energy, and navigation in a remote setting.
