I hadn't been out for a while due to a foot injury so I decided to take an easier route and explore this moorland route which I haven't done before. Starting from Spout Force car park I headed up through Darling How Plantation and up to Widow Hause and then on to Graystones. From there I returned to Widow Hause and then onto Broom Fell. I followed a contour below Lord's Seat and walked over to Barf (where I slipped and hurt my ankle!!). I returned to Lord's Seat and then followed a small path through the heather in a South-Westerly direction to enter Aitken Plantation. The path over the stream was very eroded and slippy so I went through the trees (no path) to bring myself out back on the forest track to Spout Force car park. Wildlife of note which I saw included Red Squirrel, crickets, Jay, Stoat, Blackcap warbler
