A great day out taking in several excellent scrambles and beginning by helping an injured walker back to his car from near Llyn Bochlwyd. I was leading two others. We began up East Gully ridge, grade 2/3 and well worthy of it's three stars. Came down the main gully, a two star grade 1 scramble and then up (or should I say through) the chasm face, a three star grade three scramble that I will never forget! The first part of the route was amazing, exposed, clean and a classic line. Thenk came the chasm. I foolishly left my coils on as I tried to squirm my way through the chasm only to become almost completely stuck at the point at which you turn the corner at the back of the cleft. I was very happy when I finally broke free of its clasp and into the wider chimney! Amazing route! From here we continued up to the top and then descended the Gribin and false ridge of Gribin. It was a full day out and a most enjoyable one.

Glyderau
The Glyderau (a Welsh plural form, also known in English as the Glyders) are a mountain group in Snowdonia, North Wales. The name derives from the highest peaks in the range, Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. According to Sir Ifor Williams, the word "Glyder" derives from the Welsh word "Cludair", meaning a heap of stones.
