I set off from Kirkland and followed a bridleway towards the Northern side of Cross Fell, which disappeared in bog in places which was negotiated around. I joined the Pennine Way above Greg's Hut and onto the summit of Cross Fell. There was a mixture of low cloud and sun which made for good photography! I headed down the South-East edge to the col then turned right along what should have been a bridleway but was just a mass of bog. After negotiating this for a few metres, the ground and weather improved and I dropped down the hill to Grumply Hill and back through fields to Kirkland. A fantastic day!
