
DofE Gold Practice Expedition 2023 - Day 2 - Edge Hill University: Working as a Mountain Leader and DofE Expedition Assessor. Started from Little Tryfan Camp Site in the Ogwen Valley, climbed up (South) on the Miners Path near Glyder Fawr and descended south over Pen-y-Pass to Llyn Gwynant Camp Site at Nant Gwynant. Heavy rain and periodic wind. Students did very well. Camp site had been flooded the day before. Rained over night and was again partially flooded in the morning.

The Glyderau (a Welsh plural form, also known in English as the Glyders) are a mountain group in Snowdonia, North Wales. The name derives from the highest peaks in the range, Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. According to Sir Ifor Williams, the word "Glyder" derives from the Welsh word "Cludair", meaning a heap of stones.
