Description

This solo hike involved a challenging exploration of the Killarney mountains, covering several significant peaks, including Carrauntoohil, Ireland’s highest mountain. The weather was overcast with a gentle breeze, providing stable conditions for the hike. I opted not to attempt the ridge leading to The Big Gun summit due to safety concerns about doing it solo, but the day was still a great success with a number of peaks bagged. The substantial ascent and varied terrain made for an awesome day out, testing both my endurance and navigation skills. The decision to avoid the ridge was a prudent one, emphasizing safety in challenging conditions.
