Description

A stunning day! Met John and Philippa at Patterdale Cricket club and took them up to Hole in the Wall, along Striding Edge to the summit, down Swirral Edge and onto Catsyecam. From Helvellyn you could see Blackpool tower. Steady walk back to Hole in the wall and back to Patterdale. J and P both keen for more days out in the spring.

Area : Central Fells

The Vale of Keswick, provides separation from the Northern Fells whilst to the west runs the long valley of Borrowdale. The parallel eastern boundary is created by Thirlmere and the St Johns in the Vale. Grasmere to Windermere forms the remainder of the eastern boundary. In the west, Stake Pass descends into Great Langdale.
