Description

Peaks Crossed:Great Shunner Fell (716 m)Kisdon Hill (499 m)
Nine Standards Rigg (662 m)

This was an incredibly tough section, with temperatures dropping as we left Tan Hill after dark. The frozen bog actually worked to our advantage though, allowing us to move quickly across the top of the ice. However, between Tan Hill and Middleton in Teesdale, we were forced to take a 10-minute nap in a shelter due to extreme fatigue, Ruari was sleepwalking on and off before this. The final stretch to Langdon Beck was brutally cold, with both of us struggling to stay awake while walking. During this section another fellow competitor joined us (James Levesley) Together we finally reached Langdon Beck in the early hours of the morning and took a longer rest here.
