A footpath awareness day aimed at outdoor leaders or those working towards outdoor leadership qualifications. Are you a mountain leader or aspiring mountain leader? If you're likely to spend your time guiding clients on Ben Nevis and all of Scotland's mountains come and learn about what goes into pathwork and path management. Dougie, our path guru, will lead the group on Ben Nevis to explain the work of Nevis Landscape Partnership and increase your knowledge of the purpose of various features of pathwork. The idea is that your new understanding and knowledge will lead to a recognition where things are going wrong; this may be a simple removal of a lump of turf from blocking a drain or reporting back to us of more serious failures. Paths are always being eroded and damaged and who better to keep us in the know than the people on the path day in, day out? The more information we have the better we can maintain one of the busiest paths in the country and the more information YOU have the better equipped you are to help. Who better to provide valuable information about the state of the path than regular Ben Nevis users? Timings: 10am - 5pm
