Rock Climbing Instructor refresher

This full day workshop forms part of a CPD weekend supported by the South West Regional Team and led by experts in their fields. This weekend is a great opportunity for members to get together, improve their awareness and practice and refresh their skills.

This full day RCI refresher session is a great opportunity for members preparing for their assessment who wish to have further input on efficient rigging systems for the Rock Climbing Instructor scheme, and those who may already hold the former SPA and wish to refresh skills.

This is a practical day spent looking at effective rigging for top rope, bottom rope, abseils and personal safety, with ongoing input, feedback and coaching to help you further develop your skills. There will be ample opportunities to ask questions and clarify any issues that came up on your training course. This workshop will be a great opportunity to meet like-minded trainees and award holder and to get to know people in the area to practise with.

Equipment to bring: Plenty of food and drink, personal climbing gear including a helmet. Please dress appropriately for the weather and terrain.

Workshop provider: This session will be hosted by Mountain Training course provider, Gwilym Starks.

There may be a need to use your own vehicle to reach the crag from Charterhouse.

CANCELLATION PROCEDURE

This workshop needs a minimum of 4 bookings to run. Attendees will be notified of cancellations or changes to the workshop 1 week before the date of the workshop. Attendees will receive a full refund or will have the option to transfer their booking to another available date.

If you are unable to attend the workshop, if cancellations are received up to 6 weeks before the workshop you will receive a full refund; less than 6 weeks but more than 4 weeks before the course: 50% refund; less than 4 weeks before the course date: no refund will be issued.
