Sunday Mentoring WMCI Trainees (Teaching winter short roping)
Short Roping Principles in Mountainous Terrain
The day will have a focus on the decision making frameworks and judgements that need to be made whilst looking after people in the winter mountainous terrain. These short roping principles apply in all mountainous terrain.
After a discussion on group goals and aspirations for the day, time will be spent in varying mountainous terrain to allow us to explore both technical and non - technical aspects of winter short roping, including technical ropework, communication, progression of techniques in ascent and descent and most importantly, efficient and safe decision making.
