WORKSHOP CONTENT & LEARNING OUTCOMES
An opportunity to refresh your night navigation strategies and techniques under the guidance of the Graham Uney Mountaineering HML & ML Course Provider team.
We'll focus on:
Strategies to simplify night navigation.
Accurate distance measuring.
Accuracy with compass bearings.
Using attack points effectively.
Recognising 'green' and 'red' navigation legs and choosing appropriate techniques for each.
Shortening navigation legs.
Feeling the ground beneath your feet.
EQUIPMENT/KIT REQUIRED
Personal walking kit and clothing, including head torch and spares, plus a compass and Explorer Map OL5.
CATERING/FOOD
Bring a snack and a drink.
WORKSHOP PROVIDER CREDENTIALS
Graham Uney is an experienced and busy provider of Hill and Moorland Leader, and Mountain Leader courses. Graham will run this event, and should candidate numbers be more than 6 he will be joined by Sharon Kennedy who is an experienced staff member on HML and ML courses for Graham.
CANCELLATION PROCEDURE
Please let us know immediately if you need to cancel. If we have the opportunity we may be able to fill your space and offer you a transfer onto another event, or a full refund. If we can't do this, refunds will not be available.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE EVENT
Your CPD record - If you attend this event and it counts as CPD, your CPD point/s will automatically be added to your record in due course - you will not need to add it yourself.
