About

13. Making the most of your MCI consolidation period.

Preparing for a successful Assessment.

A day spent looking at how to make the most of the time between MCI Training and Assessment.

We’ll break down the assessment into individual days, help you identify what you need to be able to do and your existing strengths and weaknesses. Then look at how to structure your practise to maximise your opportunities between training and assessment. We can look at the pros and cons of: workshops, practising with peers and mock students, the importance of feedback and how to access it and more.

We’ll also discuss how you might feel during an actual Assessment and how to deal with the pressures of the highs and lows.

There will also be an opportunity to look at some simple hard skill ‘set pieces’ at ground level in the afternoon. Bring your questions on stance management in teaching and guiding situations or simple mountaineering techniques or let the trainer set you a few small challenges.

Bring questions and an open mind, a harness, slings, and karabiners and prusik loops as well as outdoor clothing and a bladder prepared for tea and coffee!

This workshop will be run by Al Halewood. This is subject to change without notice.
